In The Community

At 2515 Squadron we like to help support the local community around Ringwood and Fordingbridge. We help out at local events such as The Ringwood Festival where we had a tombola and a recruitment tent. We would like to thank all those who donated to us on that event. By keeping a high profile we can ensure that we remain a healthy Squadron as well as raising awareness of organizations such as RAFA (Royal Air Forces Association) and SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airman and Families Association). For information on our main parades please go to Official Parades.

We have also marshaled at Ringwood's Pedal Car Grand Prix which was a huge success. The Cadets involved thoroughly enjoyed the superb atmosphere that this event brought to Ringwood and we are keen to help preserve such wonderful traditions. We are now hoping to enter our own pedal car for when it is next in Ringwood which will also help to keep an interest in the event. This year saw over 40 weird and wacky entries all battling to see who could rack up the most laps in two hours. The race in Ringwood is every two years so why not enter your own pedal car as well and join in the magic of this wonderful event.

We also help support local events such as St. Mary's Fete and other local events by offering our services for car parking and organising. This helps improve our visability within the community and also helps support local people. In 2010 we celebrated 150 years of the Cadet movement by planting 150 saplings in Ringwood with the town mayor. We also showed support during the laying down of Ringwood RAFA's standard and at the unveiling of the remorial plaque at RAF Ibsley's airfield. We believe it is important to take a highly active role in our local community and look forward to doing so in the future.
