Us as a Squadron

We parade twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays between 1915 and 2145 hrs. You can find details of our location on our Contact Us page. If you would like help getting here there is an interactive map available. Just click 'Contact Us' at the top of this page. We have around 30-40 Cadets at this squadron, both male and female, along with 10-15 Staff members. As a progressive squadron, we are very focused on the future and ideas on how to constantly improve our squadron. We are part of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wing which is one of 6 wings in South West Region. There are 6 regions in the corps.

We are a very fortunate squadron in that we have one of the largest facilities in the Wing. We are spread across two buildings and have a large drill hall. We also have our own indoor shooting range and a squadron minibus. We have an aviation flight which consists of an IT suite full of computers - 17 in total - running Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 and Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator. The computers are equipped with joysticks and headsets as well as being all networked together so you can play against or with each other. Our location within the New Forest means we are idealy situated for doing outside Activities such as Night Exercises, DofE and Fieldcraft.

Joining Information

To join the Air Training Corps (ATC) you must be between 13 and 16 years old. Beyond that there are no other restrictions at all. Uniform is provided for you and almost all activities such as Flying, Gliding and Shooting are free. The cost of joining our Squadron is £10 a month which is very reasonably priced for what you get. For more information on what we get up to inside the Corps check out the 'Activities' page. The Air Cadets is an excellent way of meeting new people and getting involved in activities you would not get the chance to experience anywhere else.
